Promoting quality music in Knoxville … by any means necessary.
Fans of Knoxville music will be pleased that a new music venue has opened in midtown Knoxville. The Well has recently re-opened the doors at 4620 Kingston Pike and promises to serve as the live music hub for central west Knoxville. The venue will be managed by Gina Truitt, formerly the boss-in-charge at knoxmusictoday.com‘s dearly-missed Bearden area entertainment venue, The Spot.
The Well will feature live music Tuesday through Saturday evenings with a focus on Americana, roots, country, and folk music. The list of performers scheduled in January and February is indeed impressive and features knoxmusictoday.com favorites Matt Woods, Marina Orchestra, Hudson K, The Theorizt, Ian Thomas, Greg Horne, Tim Lee 3, JC and the Dirty Smokers, and Kelsey’s Woods.
We had the opportunity to visit The Well for a sneak peek last weekend and enjoyed listening to Brendon Wright and Friends. Although we are in no way qualified as journalists or media reviewers, our first impression of the new venue is that it will please plenty of Knoxville music fans. The venue is comfortable and bears little resemblance to the upscale jazz and martini-ness of the previous 4620 club. In fact, the setting in some ways brought back a few memories of The Spot. Ah, let the new good times begin!
The Well is even has a FREE MUSIC SAMPLER on their website featuring several upcoming scheduled musicians . Go here to download!
The Grand Opening Weekend at The Well is this weekend, and don’t miss knoxmusictoday.com favorite Matt Woods headlining the show on Friday, January 20! Here is one of Matt’s fine videos to enjoy –
